Volunteering History

2025 LFC Foundation, Creative Works

• I completed a 1-week programme which supports education leavers with developing links to local creative employers and developing employability skills, confidence and motivation.

• I was able to visit the LFC Headquarters and speak to their design team, who create logos, imaging, match programmes, and I was able to gain information about the team tour bus.

2024 Tall Ship Voyage

• I participated in a tall ship voyage in August for a week. The voyage was from Dublin to Liverpool, and we made a stop halfway through on the Isle of Man.

• This helped me learn how to live on a tall ship and be independent, as well as learn some ship terminology. It helped me work in a team, doing watches on deck and raising the sails. This has improved my communication skills as I had to work with my friends and mentors as a collective team to make sure the ship ran safely and smoothly.

• I helped steer the ship whilst on watch, as well as keeping it clean and helping with meals. This improved my resilience, confidence and patience by being in a small space with so many people. This experience made me appreciate nature and the trip more by seeing things I wouldn’t usually see.

2023 Competition by Merseyside Police

• I entered a competition by Merseyside Police to produce a Christmas card, and the winning design was sent to all staff for Christmas.

• I had a limited amount of time to produce a professional design using a brief that represents the Police helping the community to be safe, especially during the winter holidays.

• My design was chosen to win by the Chief Constable, and I was invited to the Police headquarters to receive a gift card, a certificate of achievement and a letter from the Chief Constable herself congratulating me.

2023 – 2024 Student Reps and Student Council

• I was given the opportunity in my college to act as a voice for students across the college.

• My student rep role mostly involved me getting feedback from my peers and bringing it forward in termly meetings with the managers in college.

• This has been very beneficial and helped me to build my confidence and speak up appropriately.

• I was also helping to plan engaging events across the college by getting students’ ideas, so they felt included in the college. This has helped me to plan events, a valuable skill that I can bring into most workforces.

2021 – 2024 Member of Knowsley Youth Cabinet

• My role was Communications Rep, and I helped with events, campaigns and represented young people’s views in Knowsley. This role has helped me to be more inclusive towards everyone.

• I was responsible for poster and literature design, ensuring it was appealing to young people. This has helped me learn and adapt new skills and find ways to include people through design.

• I’ve gained independence through attending events nationally with the youth group and working in partnership with similar organisations. I have also met a wide range of young people from across the Northwest at regular networking events.
