We picked some oblique strategies from a card set; this different way of designerly thinking helps me to get out of my creative comfort zone (as I adhere to design rules). To experiment with new innovative design ideas when I am in a creative block, which encourages lateral thinking.
These are the wild cards I picked;

Card 1 – Let one element disobey (no structure for text ‘design’).
Card 2 – Break one design rule you believe in (consistency).
Card 3 – Design the apology (minions)
Card 4 – Take the most embarrassing details and amplify them. (angled/off-centred)
Card 5 – Breakfast (egg)

I liked this project as I had to get out of my comfort zone when creating the poster, which resulted in unusual ideas but still a visually effective design. I think the typography and colours worked quite well for the project brief. These digital mockups show the design festival presented visually to bring it to real life.
