These are my favourite two out of my alphabet typography experiments as I was able to used different materials and processes for each letter. I really like the G for geometric, with the bright primary colour shapes looking like a stained glass window with acrylic markers that I have used before. I also liked the U for up and used an gradient for movement using oil pastels which was a new and messy technique for me. Even though this typography are quite simple sans – serif and bold, I really like the techniques and appearance which I would use again in the future. I really do value typography in graphic design as it can convey many messages like images would e.g, modernity, simplicity and clear. I could take this further if I had time by digitalising each letter from photographs and image trace it in illustrator at a solid colour to create in an personalised font by using a free template. I have seen designers create fonts from spaghetti, whipped – cream and even random objects by using clear photographs.
