I have tried collagraphy, which is new to me, but it is a merging of a collage and a type of drawing, as it creates relief when printing. I liked this print, which worked out the very first time for me, as I think it suits the theme of abstract cityscapes. I know there is some potential with collograph, as you can blind print or print on layers of artwork. I didn’t really like this technique, but I can see my design going well layered on top of an artistic painting or background, which stands out. As I used paper and card, I got very simple shapes. I think this technique would be good for flowers, but it won’t last very long for a production scale due to its delicacy. If I wanted to use my design for a lot of prints, I would’ve covered it with tin foil.
